DNA S.A.M.M.I.E. Freight Visibility Platform

The Problem

DNA Supply Chain Solutions managed international freight movements through a combination of emails, phone calls, and manual data entry. Tracking a container from factory to final destination required constant follow-up across multiple carriers and partners, with no single place to see where anything was. Clients had no visibility without calling or emailing the DNA team directly. The process was slow, error-prone, and impossible to scale.

What We Built

SAMMIE — Shipping Analytical Maritime Manager for Imports and Exports. A purpose-built logistics platform that centralizes freight data from multiple sources, automates status communication across the supply chain, and gives every stakeholder live visibility into cargo location and status at every stage of the shipment lifecycle.

We integrated SAMMIE directly with major carriers and third-party data services to pull the freshest possible tracking data from multiple sources simultaneously. On top of that data foundation, we built both deterministic and conditional AI processing to deliver features that go beyond raw visibility.

Every shipment in SAMMIE shows the current container location, the original scheduled arrival date, and an AI-predicted arrival date based on real-time conditions and historical patterns. When an exception event occurs, the shipment blinks red so the DNA team and their clients can see at a glance what needs attention. Shipments can be marked as hot to surface high-priority cargo above the rest of the sheet.

The client-facing portal gives users direct access to all shipment documentation — ISF filings, Bills of Lading, and more — in a single click. Clients can request a manual update directly from the portal, triggering the responsible team member to verify the data. Email notifications fire automatically as shipments progress through key milestones. The tracking sheet is fully configurable: columns can be shown or hidden, and the full sheet can be exported to Excel or PDF.

Beyond visibility, we built accounting automation for major retail clients including Menards, handling the EDI data exchange and invoice processing that previously required manual work at every step. Getting this right at Menards’ scale meant meeting detailed transaction requirements and building automation that runs reliably at volume.

The development team included engineers and a designer working directly under our direction throughout the project. All of them executed with excellence, and the result is something genuinely differentiated in the logistics and freight space.

The Outcome

DNA Supply Chain Solutions operates SAMMIE as the backbone of their freight visibility offering. The platform replaced manual processes with automated data flow that scales with volume without adding headcount. It positioned DNA for their current growth chapter and serves as the foundation of their client-facing offering. Centreville Tech continues to maintain and develop SAMMIE as an ongoing client.
